MEET THE TEAM
The original firm, H.W. Brown & Co Ltd. was established in 1951 by Harold Brown, ALS, SLS. In 1968 it was re-organized as Brown, Okamura & Associates Ltd. by Tak Okamura, ALS, P.Eng. J.D. (Dave) Williams, ALS, CLS operated the company from 1997 to 2009. David Amantea, ALS, CLS, P.Eng and Thomas Penner, ALS, P.Eng have been operating the company since 2010 and Zachary Prosper, ALS, EIT, partnered with them in 2019. They continue to run it under the name Brown, Okamura & Associates Ltd.
With its office located in Lethbridge, Brown, Okamura & Associates Ltd., has operated continuously since 1951, providing a broad scope of legal, engineering and construction surveys in Southern Alberta. Brown, Okamura & Associates Ltd. is permanently staffed and equipped to provide several field survey crews, who by training and experience are capable of conducting many types of surveys. The length of service and experience of our employees enables our firm to offer “Familiarity and Experience” with Southern Alberta regarding the survey services we provide.
OUR HISTORY
David graduated with a B.Sc. degree in Geomatics Engineering from the University of Calgary in 1999 and has been involved in different aspects of surveying in Alberta since then. He has a wide variety of experience and would like to talk with you about how he can assist you with the surveying aspect of your project. He specializes in right-of-way, subdivision and Canada Lands Surveys.

Thomas graduated with a B.Sc. degree in Geomatics Engineering from the University of Calgary in 2007 and has been involved in different aspects of surveying in Alberta since then. He is very knowledgeable in urban development and construction and has an expertise in residential construction projects.

Zach graduated with a B.Sc. degree in Geomatics Engineering from the University of Calgary in 2015. Zach has worked on numerous projects in his time with Brown Okamura & Associates, both in the field and as a manager. Whether it is a rural or urban subdivision, high precision survey, or large planning project, he can provide the services needed.
